Dr. Ivan Lugo is the national chief executive officer and executive director of the Hispanic Dental Association. In September 2017, he was elected by the Pennsylvania Senate to a second six-year term on the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
Dr. Lugo holds executive leadership positions in the public and private sector and lectures globally on innovation in healthcare, oral health access and delivery methods and policy matters.
In 2010, after an academic and social entrepreneurial career, he was recruited by Procter & Gamble to lead the North America Professional and Scientific Relations group in the global R&D division. After a successful tenure with P&G, he started his own venture and created the Reading Innovation Lab in Pennsylvania to focus on strategy and social innovation through private and public ventures.
Lugo received his Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University, a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Temple University.
Dr. Lugo has been selected by his peers and inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, both are oral health professional’s honorary organizations. He is past president of the Hispanic Dental Association (1995) and currently serves on the board of Harcum College in Pennsylvania.
