Earlier this year, Blazing Trails led an educational outreach hosted by the Florida Institute of Technology and Northrop Grumman. During the show, high school students learned about pathways in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and how they relate to work. Employees from Northrop Grumman, Larsen Motorsports, Siemens, and Sherwin Williams employees gave helpful advice to students based on their experiences.
More recently, Blazing Trails announced its partnership with Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes to create the Blazing Trails Scholarship.
The fund is looking for deserving students seeking vocational and/or technical trade in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) related fields.
The Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund is open to applicants enrolled in a STEM or automotive-related program at vocational, technical, or community colleges.
In September, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) also announced a partnership with The Sherwin-Williams Company to offer college students scholarships.
Students attending two-year or four-year HACU-member institutions can apply for one of the four ($2,500) Sherwin-Williams scholarships to be awarded.
Students must submit the following essays in 200 words or less: how your Hispanic/Latin heritage impacted your motivation to obtain a college degree, how you will give back to your community during your time in school and after, and how Sherwin Williams can bring communities together.
Sherwin Williams is a global leader in paints and coating and employs more than 60,000 employees. Online applications for the scholarship will be accepted until Dec. 3. Click here to apply.
