The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), which represents 470 colleges and universities committed to higher education in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain, said in April that National Hispanic-Serving Institutions week will be observed Sept. 16-22 this year.
According to HACU, each year, the advocacy organization’s government relations staff work with members of the U.S. Congress to recognize the contributions of Hispanic-serving Institutions (HSIs) in their communities.
HACU has encouraged HSIs to observe the week with campus activities to heighten awareness of the important role HSIs play in improving access to education and advancing equity for traditionally underserved students.
