On December 13, Navajo Technical University (NTU), a leading tribal college and university, held its Fall Commencement Ceremony. According to NTU, ninety graduates walked across the stage.
The ceremony took place at the Wellness Center on Main Campus in Crownpoint, New Mexico. Students were recognized in individual ceremonies with program certificates, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees.
Dr. Elmer J. Guy, who has been president of NTU since 2006, congratulated each graduate on their achievements and encouraged them to strive for new heights.
“Today is a day of celebration,” Dr. Guy said in his remarks. “You did it! Your hard work, late nights, and determination have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of all you’ve accomplished. You have the skills and knowledge to take your achievements to the next level. Strive to make a difference in your communities and beyond.”
The ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, including Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren, Special Guest Speaker Dwight Carlston, current Navajo Nation Speaker Crystalyne Curley, and several members of the graduation committee.
The event concluded with remarks from President Nygren and Student Senate President Krista Goodluck.
Star O’rah LaPahe, Miss NTU, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of celebrating with family and supporting classmates and graduates as they begin their careers.
The IT and Marketing departments broadcasted the ceremony live on NTU’s YouTube channel and KCZY 107.3 FM.
