On May 16, Navajo Technical University (NTU) honored over ninety students with degrees and certificates in recognition of their excellence in various fields.

According to a social media post, the commencement ceremony began with the Posting of Colors.

This memorable event featured an NTU student and United States Marine Corps veteran, who had served as a corporal and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Student Senate Secretary then offered the invocation.

Dr. Elmer J. Guy, the president of NTU, congratulated the graduates, stating that NTU alumni serve as ambassadors of change, working to bring positive transformations to their communities and beyond.

As the only university in the Navajo Nation, NTU serves as both an educational institution and a beacon of hope, blending Western education with traditional Navajo teachings.

Special guest speaker Javion Chee addressed the audience, commending the students for their hard work and expressing pride in their accomplishments while wishing them well for the future.

He emphasized that the Commencement Ceremony recognizes leadership, guidance, and dedication.

Dr. Buu Nygren, the president of the Navajo Nation, advised the graduates to look toward the future while remembering their roots and home after acquiring knowledge, overcoming challenges, and building supportive mentorships along the way.

John Lasiloo of the Zuni Board of Trustees delivered the benediction, marking the conclusion of an event filled with pride and optimism for the future.
