Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute has announced an Innovation, Automation, and the Future of the Workforce Panel Discussion & Leadership Reception. The event will be held Wednesday, October 17 at the S&P Global Headquarters in New York.

Sponsors of the regional CHCI event include Bank of America, AARP, Charter Communications, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), Caesars Entertainment, and The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest human resources professional society, representing 285,000 members.

According to a 2018 report, “Workforce of the future: The competing forces shaping 2030” the world is living through a fundamental transformation.

“Automation and ‘thinking machines’ are replacing human tasks and jobs and changing the skills that organizations are looking for in their people. These momentous changes raise huge organizational, talent and HR challenges – at a time when business leaders are already wrestling with unprecedented risks, disruption and political and societal upheaval,” the report states.

CHCI will examine how organizations can prepare for the future, how talent needs will change,  how you can attract, keep and motivate the people you need, and what all this means for HR.

The 2018 PwC report draws on research began in 2007 by a team from PwC and the James Martin Institute for Science and Civilisation at the Said Business School in Oxford and a specially commissioned survey of 10,000 people in China, India, Germany, the UK, and the US.
