The Game Devs of Color Expo was held September 16-19. Last week, Games for Change highlighted the Hispanic Heritage Fund and its influence on youth, education, and gaming.

During online talks supporting the celebration of creativity and voices in gaming, Hispanic Heritage Fund President Antonio Tijerino shared how gaming builds critical thinking, demonstrating how games can spark learning and foster cultural connections.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) is dedicated to advancing education, workforce development, societal impact, and leadership, with culture serving as the cornerstone of its mission.

HHF is now receiving applications for the 27th Annual Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards, which are now available online with a deadline of November 2, 2025.

High school seniors from across the United States will be selected in four categories, including engineering and technology, with additional categories being added throughout the awards season.

To be considered, students must be graduating in the spring of 2026 and enroll at an accredited higher education institution in the 2026 -2027 academic year.

The Youth Awards applicant pool also serves as the primary pipeline into LOFT (Leaders On The Fast Track) and the Leadership Institute, a collaborative initiative between the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Trinity University.

Youth Awardees and applicants will be integrated into the LOFT Network, a dynamic and innovative community of 350,000 leaders (ages 15-40) with access to exclusive training, resources, mentorship, career development programs, internships, and full-time opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.

The Leadership Institute is dedicated to advancing leadership, workforce readiness, community engagement, cultural awareness, and social justice.

Through the 27-year-old Youth Awards, thousands of high school students from all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico and D.C., have been recognized for their achievements in the classroom and community, and their focus on a career path in all STEM areas, entrepreneurship, media, public service, and other categories.
