The United States will celebrate National AI Literacy Day on March 28, 2025. Supporting organizations of this annual initiative include the EDSAFE AI Alliance, Tech Interactive, Common Sense, and the AI Education Project.
In 2024, Tech Interactive, a science, technology, and education center in Silicon Valley, launched the inaugural National AI Literacy Day Summit, one of several events nationwide.
In collaboration with aiEDU, AI for Education, and the EDSAFE AI Alliance (InnovateEDU), the summit aimed to unite K -12 students, educators, and communities through an immersive exploration and discussion of artificial intelligence.
AI Literacy Day is a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), exploring its practical applications in education, and identifying resources that promote AI literacy.
On March 28, 2025, the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Education Initiative will host the Colorado AI Literacy Summit virtually. This day-long event will feature panel discussions and learning sessions focused on the use of AI in K -12 education.
The Science Museum of Virginia has also announced its plans to celebrate National AI Literacy Day with unique programming that allows people to interact with generative artificial intelligence.
During this event, participants will be able to distinguish between AI-generated images through an AI Explorer demo, have a picture drawn by an AI SketchBot, and participate in an AI architecture LEGO challenge in The Forge.
Additionally, the museum will host vendors to showcase their contributions to the growing use of AI across various fields, including education, business innovation, and the gaming industry.
Representatives from the Virginia Society for Technology in Education, Bean Sprout Learning and Development, AI Ready RVA, ImmerseCon, and the VCU School of Engineering will be in attendance.
The Science Museum’s activities for National AI Literacy Day will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and are designed for guests ages eight and older; participation is included with admission.
In April, educators, students, and campus leaders will come together to innovate at the AI Learning Fair. Furthermore, during the AI Show in San Diego, academia will share how they are transforming the vision of AI-powered education into a tangible reality.
