Hilda Vargas strives to ensure that careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) become more accessible for young Latinx students. She is highly regarded as a role model for the Latinx community at Xandr.
Xandr is a division of AT&T that operates a platform for buying and selling digital advertising. Hilda is responsible for data analytics tools that help customer service teams handle the data made available to them through the Xandr advertising platform.
Hilda is the key developer of a user interface (UI) known as Alfred, which can build tools that solve data issues for teammates that are trying to use Xandr’s advertising platform on behalf of strategic customers. She is an excellent partner to the teams for which she builds tools. She listens to their issues, watches them work, then designs data systems, infrastructure, analysis, and UI that make the day-to-day work of her stakeholders more data-driven.
Hilda also serves as the treasurer-finance lead for Vamos, a business resource group at Warner Media. In 2019, she led the group’s Hispanic Heritage Month projects to help raise funds and provide scholarships for high school students looking to continue their education in college.
Hilda has hosted career workshops to support employees. In 2020, she helped launch a channel for employees to practice Spanish to ensure the organization had the resources to communicate to a diverse clientele and global employee community while also maintaining a sense of connection and interaction.
