California State University, Los Angeles recently announced that the institution was ranked 15th in the West, up six spots in U.S. News & World Report. By all accounts, Cal State LA is leading the nation in engineering, business, nursing, and, psychology—breaking barriers and shaping futures.

According to recent data, the enrolled student population at Cal State LA is 72.9% Hispanic or Latino, 11.3% Asian, 5.6% White, 3.95% Black or African American, 1.51% two or more races, 0.125% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.0718% Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders.

Throughout September, California State University (CSU) held College Nights in Fresno, Rohnert Park, Santa Clara, Pasadena, and San Diego, CA.

The events were designed for high school and community college students, returning students, and adult learners to learn about the 23 universities in the CSU system and how to prepare for college.

Parents, guardians, family members, and educators were encouraged to attend and support their students on their path to higher education.

During each event, attendees had the opportunity to meet and connect with representatives from the 23 universities.

They learned about ways to prepare for CSU freshman and transfer admissions, got tips on completing a Cal State Apply application, discovered available resources to help pay for college, and met with representatives from various student support services, including the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the Early Assessment Program, financial aid offices, and the California College Guidance Initiative.

Prospective students can also learn about systemwide programs such as CSU Summer Arts, Educator and Leadership Programs, the Hospitality & Tourism Alliance, and Esports Cal State.
