SACNAS has announced its National Diversity in STEM Conference will be held October 28-30. Although the organization is still considering all options for an in-person, virtual, or hybrid event, they did say they will reach a decision by May. Meanwhile, undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply for travel scholarships.
On its website, the organization said SACNAS travel scholarships provide access to registration, travel and/or lodging support, as well as specialized programming.
SACNAS is dedicated to the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
According to SACNAS, during the conference, attendees are immersed in cutting-edge STEM research, professional development sessions, the Graduate School & Career Expo Hall, as well as multicultural celebrations and traditions.
A complete application will contain a statement of purpose (500-word limit), and a letter of recommendation. Applications must be received through the online application submission system by April 16.
Applicants have to be current SACNAS student-level members before applying for a travel scholarship.
