POSTED ON Jul 29, 2024

NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement has announced that the deadline to apply for the Spring 2025 Internship program is August 23, 2024.

Early decisions for the Summer 2025 internships will be made on October 25, 2024, and the final list will be available by February 28, 2025.

According to the Office of STEM Engagement website, internships offer students an opportunity to gain practical work experience while working side-by-side with mentors who are research scientists, engineers, and individuals from many other professions.

Internships may be full-time or part-time, and they may be at a NASA center or facility or even working from your home or dorm. You can find more information by clicking here.

Last weekend, the General Dynamics Marine Systems unit hosted a career center walk-in hiring event aimed at attracting people looking to kick start their careers and contribute to national defense by constructing the world’s most advanced naval ships.

The event covered a range of available positions across various skill levels, including manufacturing, design, engineering, and support roles.

Hispanic Engineer magazine noted recently how Raúl Monreal III, a senior engineer and corporate manager, secured an internship with General Dynamics Combat Systems before graduating from Arizona State University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering.

He made significant progress in his career, taking on diverse engineering assignments to provide state-of-the-art technology in support of American soldiers on the battlefield.

He served as the Battle Command Applications engineering department’s engineering section manager, overseeing hundreds of employees, including several interns.

A hiring executive emphasized the value of internships in promoting collaboration with educational institutions to ensure students are adequately prepared for careers in the industry and to shape future talent.
