The American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) National Undergraduate Scholarship supports students in covering their college education costs and encourages their participation in AIPG.
Up to ten scholarships are available for undergraduate majors in geological sciences who are at least sophomores.
Each scholarship award is worth $3,000, intended to assist with tuition and room and board for eligible students attending accredited colleges or universities in the U.S.
To be eligible, students must be majoring in geology (or earth science), be at least sophomores, and be enrolled in a two-year or four-year accredited institution in the U.S.
Additionally, applicants must either be members of AIPG or have applied for student membership at the time of submitting their scholarship application.
As a condition of receiving the scholarship, awardees are required to write a 600 to 800-word article for publication in The Professional Geologist. The article must address a relevant professional issue.
Applications must be submitted by midnight Mountain Standard Time (MST) on February 1st.
Students must be enrolled in a geological science degree program, as defined by the American Geosciences Institute. Click here for information.
