The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that applications are now being accepted for two undergraduate internship programs for the Summer 2025 term.
The Office of Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program and the Community College Internships (CCI) program are unique opportunities available to all current and recent college undergraduates.
Interns will gain insights into science and technology careers, experience team science, network with professionals, and acquire the skills needed to transition from internship to employment.
The application deadline for both programs is January 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
Applicants will have access to various resources, including workshops, an alumni panel, an online internship fair, and technical support throughout the application process.
Selected interns will collaborate directly with scientists and engineers at national laboratories, assisting them on research or technology projects that support the DOE’s mission and tackle pressing scientific challenges, such as global warming.
SULI is open to full-time students attending four-year institutions or community colleges, as well as recent graduates who have completed their bachelor’s or associate’s degree within the last two years.
CCI is specifically designed for community college students. Both programs provide stipends and are offered three times a year: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Participants from outside the commuting area will be offered round-trip travel to and from the host lab, along with financial assistance for lodging.
