Apply for a Dell Program Scholarship

POSTED ON Dec 03, 2024

Since its inception in 2004, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has supported 4,000+ scholars, including over 2,000 college graduates.

The Dell Scholars Program offers a flexible scholarship designed to address various costs that arise during a college career.

In line with its philanthropic vision, the program specifically targets low-income students who need financial assistance.

The ideal candidate for the Dell Scholars Program is a high school student dedicated to pursuing a college education, demonstrates financial need, and actively participates in a recognized college readiness program during their 11th and 12th grades.

Applicants should show grit, ambition, and potential for success in higher education.

The award winner will receive a $20,000 scholarship, which can be used for various academic-related expenses, including tuition, fees, loan repayment, study abroad programs, and internship stipends.

To help create a supportive academic environment, the winner will also have access to teletherapy services and other resources to manage stress, debt, and challenging situations.

Dell Scholars are expected to enroll full-time in a bachelor’s degree program at the University of Texas at Austin immediately after high school graduation.

A minimum GPA of 2.4 is required to qualify; however, students outside this range are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate grit, ambition, and potential in their pursuit of a college education.

Michael & Susan Dell Foundation announced on Facebook that over 4,000 students have earned their college degrees with support from the Dell Scholars program, and Dell Scholars are 50% more likely to graduate than their peers.

This fall, the foundation shared the story of Makaila and how the Dell Scholars program helped shape her future. She began her journey with an internship at the mayor’s office in South Bend, Indiana. “I’ve always wanted to listen to people’s perspectives. By understanding what they say, I can help improve the systems we live in,” she told the foundation.
