Over the weekend, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund organized a College Prep Saturday session at California State University, Los Angeles.

This event was aimed at middle and high school students and their parents. Attendees received guidance on a range of topics, including college applications, selecting the right college, writing personal statements, researching financial aid, and more.

The presenting sponsors of the event were Wells Fargo and Cal State, LA.

If you are interested in applying for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) program, it is recommended that you start preparing for it now.

While the scholarship awards for this year have already been selected, applications for the 2024 HSF Scholar Program will be open soon.

The selection process is entirely merit-based, and scholarships range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the needs of the applicant.

Typically, applications open on January 1st, and the deadline to submit them is mid-February.

The selection process for HSF Scholars takes place in March. Students can present their supporting documents from June to November, and the awards ceremony is held in December.

Each year, HSF selects 10,000 exceptional students from a diverse pool of applicants. HSF awards more than $30 million in scholarships annually.

Depending on available funds, HSF Scholars may also be eligible for a scholarship awarded directly to them. HSF Scholars have access to mentorship, leadership development, and knowledge-building programs.

Being part of the HSF Scholar community also means that they can benefit from career services that provide access to select internship and job opportunities with HSF corporate partners.

Additionally, HSF Scholars can apply for all conferences, including the STEM Summit, Finance Conference, Media & Entertainment Summit, Entrepreneurship Summit, and Healthcare Summit.
