Earlier this year, the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) announced the launch of the AISES Google Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year, with support from Google.
The scholarship is open to Indigenous students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at accredited academic institutions.
AISES is offering $2,500 scholarships to 20 students who are making an impact in the field of STEM.
Additionally, AISES will be hosting its national conference from October 3 to 5 in San Antonio, Texas, with the theme “Rivers of Resilience: Sustaining Indigenous Innovation.”
The conference is expected to draw over 3,500 members and attendees nationwide from Alaska to Hawaii and Canada.
The three-day event will focus on educational, professional, and workforce development.
Attendees will include Indigenous high school and college students, educators, professionals, tribal nations and enterprises, universities, corporations, and government agencies.
The conference aims to fulfill the AISES mission by providing students and professionals access to career pathways, professional and leadership development, research, and networking, all while incorporating Indigenous culture into the event.
The conference is designed to cater to everyone, whether they are new to AISES, just beginning their AISES journey, or are experienced conference attendees.
