In partnership with the National Science Foundation Computer and Information Science and Engineering directorate, the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) has announced the second Convening on Computer Science Research Infrastructure. The two-day virtual event will be held on December 2 and 3, 2020.
In the press release, AISES said the organization is looking to recruit 40 faculty members from Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) and Native-serving institutions in computer and information sciences and computer engineering and related fields, or with computer and information sciences and computer engineering -related interests to participate.
Participants will work to identify and develop research project ideas within CISE areas of focus including artificial intelligence (AI), smart and connected health, cybersecurity, and data science. Click here for more information.
The 2019 AISES annual report “Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow” was also released recently. AISES has more than 5,900 individual members with nineteen professional chapters and 195 college/university chapters. There are also three tribal chapters, and more than 200 K-12 affiliated schools enrolling more than 55,000 Native students.
To date, AISES has awarded more than $12 million in academic scholarships.
