On August 3, 2024, more than 1,300 graduates celebrated the completion of their journey at Auburn University during the summer ceremonies.
The ceremonies took place at Neville Arena and were live-streamed online.
Provost Vini Nathan and Beau Byrd, a 1989 alumnus of the Harbert College of Business, delivered speeches at the events.
Byrd, who is now an attorney in Birmingham, also gave the commencement address.
During his speech, Byrd shared his experiences as a student at Auburn, including the challenges of working multiple jobs while serving as the Student Government Association Treasurer.
The summer ceremonies held special significance for graduates such as Carson Anderson, who earned a Master of Science in Exercise, Performance, and Health while working full-time at the Harrison College of Pharmacy and as a personal trainer.
Anderson reflected on the dedication and hard work that characterized his time at Auburn. He managed to balance two jobs, school, family, and social life, often starting his days as early as 4 am while pursuing both a bachelor’s and master’s degree.
