Javier Polit is Chief Information Officer at P&G. He joined the company early in April 2017. P&G has more than 65 different brands, about half of which have sales of more than $500 million each year.
Prior, Polit served as the global chief information officer for The Coca-Cola Company Bottling Investments Group for almost a decade. He joined Coca-Cola in 2003 as global director of business intelligence and distribution system. Previously, Polit held positions of increasing responsibility at Office Depot, Inc., and Coopers Lybrand.
Born in Guayaquil in Ecuador, Polit graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and then went on to earn master’s degrees in science, international business administration, international management, and business administration from Barry University, Tilburg University, the Budapest University of Economics and Science, and Purdue University respectively.
He was named CIO of the Year by Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association (LISTA) and was a candidate for the Brillante Award given by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.
During one Olympic Games, he was selected to carry the Olympic torch in New York. It was Coca Cola’s way of thanking him for his efforts in supporting more than 80,000 associates by spearheading IT functions.
Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology magazine named him to its top Hispanics in technology list in the spring of 2011.
