The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) has announced scholarship opportunities to aid students. AISES members can access scholarships for American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and Indigenous peoples of Canada on the Online Scholarship Application Information System (OASIS).
The General Application Profile within OASIS can be completed, revised, and submitted at any time, and will automatically match students with scholarships they are eligible for and those that are open to receive. Creating a profile is the first step towards completing other applications for which you may qualify. Here are some of the open scholarships available:
– Apple Pathways Academy (2023-2024) from AISES and Apple: offered to Indigenous college sophomore students studying in a STEM field.
– AISES 3M Scholarship (2023-2024) in partnership with 3M: available for incoming college freshman students pursuing ANY STEM degree.
– A.T. Anderson Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES: established in memory of A.T. Anderson, one of the AISES founders.
– ARDC Scholarship Program (2023-2024) from AISES and Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC): available for students pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, web design and development, audio technology, mechanical engineering, mathematics, information technology, or communications.
– Aristocrat Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and Aristocrat: available for undergraduate students in a field related to casino gaming.
– Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Foundation Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and BNSF: available for American Indian high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher residing in one of the 23 states serviced by BNSF and its affiliated companies.
– Chevron Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and Chevron: available for Information Technology, Engineering, and Earth Science students who have a 3.0 GPA and are authorized to work in the United States.
– Environmental Science Associates (ESA) Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and ESA: available for undergraduate Indigenous students pursuing a STEM or planning degree in Washington, Oregon, California, or Florida.
– ExxonMobil Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and ExxonMobil: available for undergraduate, MS, and Ph.D. students in financing academic costs, geosciences fieldwork, and research.
– GeoComply Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and GeoComply: available for students pursuing a degree in a STEM field.
– Intel Growing The Legacy Scholarship Program (2023-2024) from AISES and Intel Corporation: available for undergraduate or graduate STEM students.
– Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) Scholarship (2023-2024) from AISES and SPEEA: available for Indigenous students interested in an aerospace career pursuing an associates, bachelors, or graduate degree in the state of Washington.
