The Los Alamos ScienceFest is an annual festival that celebrates science and technology. This year’s fiesta will focus on the theme of “Energy” and feature family-friendly activities and exhibits that showcase various forms of energy, such as nuclear, kinetic, thermal, electrical, and chemical.
The festival started with a free Friday Night Concert at Ashley Pond Park on July 7 at 6 pm. The highlight of the festival was Discovery Day on July 8, which featured hands-on exhibits, activities, and live music.
Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy various events such as the Los Alamos Big Band Dance, Tuesdays at the Square, and the Dark Night Sky event. Visitors can also participate in the Solar Car Race or check out the latest transportation technology at the Electric Vehicle Show.
There will also be a Technology Showcase and Demo Day hosted by the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Feynman Center for Innovation and the New Mexico Lab-Embedded Entrepreneur Program.
The festival will conclude with a Closing Party on July 18 featuring music from Half-Pint and the Growlers. For a full schedule and additional details, visitors can check out the festival’s website. For those planning a visit to Los Alamos, more information is available on the town’s website.
