Since the program was launched in 2018, over 70 percent of the 200 winners have come from minority groups. Half the total are engineering majors, with 42% in computer science and 8% in mathematics and physics.

Applicants to the Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship Program must be a high school senior with a 2.5 or above GPA OR a first-year, sophomore, or junior undergraduate student with a 2.5 or above GPA. They should have current or planned 4-year degree enrollment in
aerospace engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, industrial engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and physics.

Applicants must also have interest in a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their first-year student, sophomore, or junior year of college. Click here for more information.

It’s still okay to apply for a scholarship with the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF). Applicants must be full-time students in a college or university, including two-year colleges or vocational schools that lead to an associate’s degree. Graduate students must have applied to or be enrolled as part-time students in a college or university.

All awards are sent to local League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Councils for distribution to recipients. Scholarships may be used to pay tuition, academic fees, room, board, and purchase required educational materials and books.

Under the LULAC National Educational Service (LNSF) program, LULAC Councils, in partnership with local businesses, award scholarships to students in their communities. Awards start at $250. Awards of $500 and under are disbursed on July 15; awards over $500 are disbursed in two equal payments on July 15 and January 15. Application due to local LULAC Councils by March 31.

Applicants are eligible for the following three types of scholarship awards: National Scholastic Achievement Awards ($2,000), Honors Awards ($500 to $2,000), and General Awards ($250 to $1,000).
