MG Thomas A. Benes (USMC, Ret.) Joins Alion
Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions company, announced that it has hired Major General Thomas A. Benes (USMC, Ret.) to provide strategic support to the company's maritime-focused business sector. Benes brings exceptional experience to this role, having most recently served as the Director of the Navy's Expeditionary Warfare Division. Prior to that assignment, Benes was the Director, Strategy and Plans Division, Plans, Policies and Operations for the U.S. Marine Corps.

IT Exec inducted into 2009 Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Hall of Fame
Edgar Figueroa, executive director of Austin-based Wi-Fi Alliance, was inducted into the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s 2009 Alumni Hall of Fame at the Gala event on September 30 in New York City. Figueroa’s story is a study in overcoming hardships and using education as a stepping stone to success.  He arrived in the United States from Guatemala at the age of 14 without a word of English.  In the midst of poverty and family tragedy, he committed himself to his studies and excelled.
