Gonzalo Alvarez is a scientific staff member in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. And jointly, at ORNL's Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences, which is one of just five Nanoscale Science Research Centers established by the Department of Energy's Office of Science, as user facilities for the nanoscience community.

National News UTEP Welcomes Internationally Renowned Scholar as Welch Chair in Chemistry
The University of Texas at El Paso has announced that Luis Echegoyen, an
internationally recognized researcher and scholar, will join the UTEP faculty as
the Robert A. Welch Chair in Chemistry. Echegoyen, Ph.D., is the director of the
Chemistry Division at the National Science Foundation.
