Adam’s first internship experience was in San Antonio, Texas. Speaking to Career Communications Group (CCG) Media in 2019, he recalls packing up and leaving his family for the first time. He was nervous and anxious, but his internship experience helped him understand his value and role in a work environment. Another tip from Adam: capitalizing on internships builds connections to land a job.

According to The Intern Histle, there are lots of benefits to doing internships outside of the popular summer months. The Intern Group says fall internships offer the best shot at getting hired post-internship. They also offer students once in a lifetime opportunity to grow their network.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is recruiting for the SEC Scholars Business Program for Fall 2023. If you miss the April deadline, please remember the SEC offers internships year-round. Click here for more information.

According to a recent ad, the program targets undergraduate and graduate students to participate in a ten-week internship. The SEC Scholars Program will begin on August 28, 2023, and conclude on November 3, 2023.

SEC Scholars Business students will be assigned to work with SEC staff members on projects and assignments that range from supporting securities regulations to assisting in professional administrative duties such as human resources, contracting, auditing, etc.

The SEC Scholars Program will be full-time or part-time in the fall. This will be based on the selectees’ academic course load schedule and division/office needs. Interns must work a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Division of Corporation Finance, Division of Investment Management, Office of Financial Management, Office of the Information Technology, and the Strategic Hub for Innovation and Financial Technology (FinHub).
