Now through September 9, public elementary and middle school teachers can visit FuelingEducation dot com for the chance to win up to $5,000 in school supplies to benefit science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

“We are thankful for supporters like CITGO, who have helped us in our mission to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers,” said  America’s Science Teacher Steve Spangler. “Once again this year, we will positively impact almost 100 classrooms to better engage students in STEM subjects.”

Mr. Spangler’s videos featured on YouTube have more than 200 million views, and his online experiments are widely used by parents and educators to increase student engagement and inspire young scientists to learn more about STEM-based careers.

CITGO Petroleum Corporation has partnered with National School Supply, We Are Teachers, and ‘America’s Science Teacher’ for the sixth annual Fueling Education program.

Since the initiative’s inception in 2016, CITGO has awarded more than $1.5 million toward programs that promote the importance of STEM education and provide educators with much-needed resources.

“At CITGO, we recognize the STEM fields play a key role in the sustained growth of our industry, our communities, and our nation’s economy,” said Larry Elizondo, CITGO general manager, community relations, and corporate social responsibility.

“We see the value of STEM every day across our operations, and we are committed to working with schools and universities in our regions to make STEM education a priority and help solve the critical shortage of STEM professionals entering the workforce.”

To enter the Fueling Education promotion, eligible teachers can visit www.FuelingEducation.com to share their favorite STEM teaching idea.
