Marcos Polanco is an Engineering Leader. While establishing the information technology business development unit for the Government of Puerto Rico, he helped to facilitate the creation of 1,700 jobs, by attracting $110M corporate investment from Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, and Honeywell Aerospace, among others.
As director of the Founder Institute, Marcos leads the largest entrepreneur training and startup program. Based in Silicon Valley and with chapters across 85 cities and 30 countries, the Founder Institute has helped launch 1,400 companies, which have created over 10,000 new jobs.
As the chief technology officer of Visor Labs, Marcos led over twenty software engineering engagements leading to a dozen apps on the Apple App Store. Visor Labs is an app agency with over thirty successful engagements delivering native, network applications for Apple iPhone, iPad and Apple TV apps across B2B and B2C segments.
According to his LinkedIn page, Marcos has helped launch over 50 startups across Silicon Valley and Latin America.
Earlier in his career, Marcos co-invented and patented a widely-cited machine learning algorithm, then founded an enterprise social search startup to commercialize the technology.
He has served as Lead Software Engineer with Bellwether Coffee since Feb 2018.
Marcos is also serving as a Kauffman Fellow under the mentorship of Adeo Ressi at Expansive Ventures, a network-based venture capital firm that leverages the collective intelligence of the Founder Institute to make large early-stage investments worldwide.
The Kauffman Fellowship, named after Ewing Marion Kauffman, is a two-year educational, networking, and leadership development program for venture capitalists.
