The Community College of Baltimore County recently announced the launch of a new Associate of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence beginning in Fall 2025.

According to the press release, graduates of the AI program will be prepared for careers in software development, systems analysis, data science, computer research, and information technology.

CCBC also said the new AI degree program will introduce students to the foundational principles of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, natural language processing, and data-driven decision-making.

Designed primarily as a transfer program, the AI degree aligns with newly established Bachelor of Science programs in Artificial Intelligence at both the University of Maryland Global Campus and the University of Baltimore.

As partner institutions in CCBC’s Degrees to Succeed initiative, the University of Maryland Global Campus and the University of Baltimore offer dual admission opportunities to eligible students, creating a seamless transfer experience.

San Diego State University has announced a new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Human Responsibility, the first degree of its kind in the California State University system.

According to San Diego State, this academic program will help students investigate not only how AI works, but when, why and whether it should be deployed.

The SDSU College of Arts and Letters degree program integrates technical literacy with insights from the social sciences and humanities.

The University at Buffalo has announced that seven AI-focused bachelor’s degrees were recently approved by the New York State Education Department for implementation this fall.

The newly approved degrees include AI and geospatial analysis (Department of Geography), AI and language and intercultural competence (Department of Romance Languages and Literatures), AI and language technology (Department of Linguistics), AI and logic and ontology (Department of Philosophy), AI and policy analysis (Department of Political Science), AI and quantitative economics (Department of Economics), and AI and responsible communication (Department of Communication).

According to the press release, the seven degrees were developed over the spring semester by an ad hoc curriculum committee of faculty across the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, where the AIS department will be jointly based.

New Mexico State University has announced that it will be offering the state’s first Bachelor of Science in artificial intelligence starting in fall 2026. The degree was approved by the state’s Higher Education Department and the Higher Learning Commission in spring 2025.
