The LA STEM Collective has announced plans to celebrate its 5th anniversary this August. According to the social media post, accomplishments over the past five years include collaborating with 20 STEM organizations that supported LAUSD 5th graders during COVID, as well as launching a 9-week LA Science Explorers program involving 46 Beyond the Bell schools.

The collective, described as “an intersection of education, industry, and community-based organizations,” has grown to nearly 100 members focused on increasing access to high-quality learning experiences, opportunities, and resources.

Additionally, Latinos for Education, in collaboration with the Center for Black Educator Development, is accepting applications for the AI in Education Leadership Catalyst.

This five-week program aims to equip PK–12 leaders with tools to explore how AI can transform teaching and learning. Participants will receive ASCD+ISTE membership, a certificate and digital credential, a Google AI Essentials scholarship, and support to share their learning.

Join community-centered virtual sessions designed to empower PK–12 education leaders with foundational knowledge and skills to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming teaching and learning.

In a recent podcast featuring human resource leaders, a chief learning officer discussed how a business management consultant trained 400,000 employees in the fundamentals of AI.

The learning officer noted that AI enhanced human skills such as emotional intelligence (EQ), empathy, and curiosity among employees during a five-week innovation sprint where they built actual AI agents.

Employees received AI-powered guidance on writing reviews, setting goals, and aligning with company values, along with real-time AI coaching on emotional intelligence.

Industry leaders are encouraging those with the skills to take on operator roles and explore or retrain as technicians, citing them as ”the future” of the manufacturing sector.

Skills for technicians include logic, programming, critical thinking, and managing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to achieve optimal results.
