The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2025 session. Internships are an excellent opportunity to enhance your professional development.
If you are a college student or a recent graduate, don’t miss your chance to apply for a position in the HACU National Internship Program.
The fall session will run from September 1 to December 12, 2025, and the new application deadline is July 29, 2025.
The program offers numerous benefits, including a competitive paid internship, professional development and networking opportunities, exposure to meaningful and impactful projects, and potential opportunities for future employment.
Undergraduates, graduates, and recent graduates in any major are encouraged to apply.
On May 30, HACU welcomed college students to the summer session during a webinar orientation for interns serving across federal agencies in Washington, D.C., and field offices nationwide.
Interns participated in a 10-week summer internship program, while the spring 2025 internship program ran from January 6 to April 18.
On National Intern Day 2024, HACU celebrated its federal and corporate interns from across the country.
These interns were placed in various agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Export-Import Bank of the United States, Farm Credit Administration, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Internal Revenue Service, Library of Congress, National Institutes of Health, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
They also included Small Business Administration, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of the Treasury, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Leading up to National Internship Day, HACU highlighted a success story shared on social media. Keila P., an emergency management professional, described the HACU National Internship Program as an incredible opportunity based on her personal experience.
She encouraged undergraduates and new graduates to apply and take advantage of the many offerings from HACU, including paid internships, leadership programs, and scholarships.
Sophia Dziekan, a rising senior at Columbia University, shared on LinkedIn ten months ago that she started a new position as a student intern at the USDA Office of the Chief Scientist, thanks to the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP).
Sophia noted that her federal internship involved supporting the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate (AIM for Climate), a joint initiative between the United States and the United Arab Emirates aimed at addressing climate change and global hunger.
This initiative aims to promote investment in climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation over five years (2021-2025). She was excited about the opportunity to learn valuable skills, build lasting connections, and explore her interest in sustainable agriculture while contributing to the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) team in various capacities.
In August 2024, HACU celebrated the conclusion of its summer internships with a virtual ceremony on August 8, honoring the undergraduate and graduate students who participated in the program.
Similarly, in December 2024, HACU held a virtual farewell ceremony for its fall interns, who had also interned with federal agencies nationwide as part of the HACU National Internship Program.
