For 30 incredible years, the WOC Conference has been proudly shaping legacies in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), inspiring generations to pursue their passions and dreams.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Margarita “Maggie” Dominguez’s hiring as the first female engineer at Tampa Electric in 1975. Throughout her groundbreaking career, she held various management positions, including Director of Environmental Services and Director of the Tampa Electric Bulk Power Department.
Her expertise in sales and customer service contributed to her success, earning her recognition as the Technologist of the Year during the WOC STEM Conference in the fall of 2000.
Although Dominguez is now a realtor, she looks back on her time at Tampa Electric with pride.
