The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program has extended the application deadline for the fall 2025 session.

This session will run from September 1 to December 12, 2025, with a new application deadline of July 29, 2025.

HACU is now accepting applications for this paid internship opportunity, open to students from all majors.

Initially founded in 1992, the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) began with just 24 students and one federal agency. It now places over 400 students in internships across the nation each year.

In the summer of 2024, the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) welcomed 170 college students to the fall session, which included a hybrid orientation on August 30, 2024.

This orientation provided valuable information about federal agencies and Hispanic-serving institutions. Additionally, HACU opened applications for the spring 2025 internship session, with a deadline of October 18, 2024. The spring session ran from January 6, 2025, to April 18, 2025.

On May 30, 2025, HACU will welcome new college students to the summer 2025 session of the HACU National Internship Program. A webinar orientation will be held for interns serving across federal agencies in Washington, D.C., and in field offices nationwide. Interns will participate in this summer internship program for 10 weeks.

In addition to getting your application for the fall internship in by July 29, 20025, HACU will be hosting a webinar titled, “Fostering STEM Sense of Belonging Through Summer Research at Transfer Universities,” for HACU members, on the same day. Visit the website for more information.
