Frisco Independent School District announced today that more than 60 members of the Class of 2025 are preparing to serve their country this fall by enlisting in the military, participating in ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) programs at their chosen colleges or universities, or attending U.S. military academies.
The third Saturday in May is Armed Forces Day, a time for Americans to pay tribute to all the men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The ceremony includes a formal change of command between the outgoing spring regimental commander and the incoming fall regimental commander, followed by the regiment passing in review in front of the senior class.
Three cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army during the Albany State University (ASU) Spring Commencement Ceremony on May 6.

Latimore also played on the ASU Women’s Soccer Team, mentored students for the Velma Fudge Grant Honors Program, served as the Membership Vice President for the Epsilon Omicron Chapter of Gamma Sigma, and worked as a technician at a local hospital.
After graduation, she will serve as a Chemical Officer in the Georgia Army National Guard.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced that 30 Reserve Officer Training Corps members received military commissions.
On May 16, seventeen Army ROTC cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
On May 17, six midshipmen in Navy ROTC received commissions—four as ensigns in the U.S. Navy and two as second lieutenants in the U.S. Marine Corps. Additionally, seven Air Force ROTC cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Air Force on May 17.
