Earlier this year, Education Week reported that more teachers use artificial intelligence (AI) in their lessons. In an informal LinkedIn poll, 60 percent of the 1,186 respondents indicated they had integrated AI into their teaching, while 39 percent said they had not.

However, when Education Week posed a question similar to its LinkedIn audience in 2024, only 40 percent of the 1,142 respondents reported using AI or discussing it in their lessons, while 60 percent said they had not.

According to responses from Education Week‘s LinkedIn polls from this school year and the previous one, teachers are finding various ways to incorporate AI into their lessons.

Some examples include using ChatGPT and other AI-powered tools to generate quizzes and test questions, using AI tools to grade multiple-choice questions, and employing an AI-powered voice assistant to control a computer screen while interacting with students around the room.

One teacher noted utilizing AI tools to design lessons based on design thinking, which requires students to collaborate in developing creative solutions to problems.

Since its inception in 1998, Google Doodles have evolved into a collection of over 5,000 distinct pieces, as reported by Creative Bloq.

These Doodles highlight a fascinating journey that began as a simple out-of-office message and transformed into a rich collection of illustrations and interactive games.

A recent Doodle served as a heartfelt tribute for Teacher Appreciation Day 2025, showcasing thank-you cards crafted by students to honor their educators.

Additionally, Google.org actively supports teachers during U.S. Teacher Appreciation Week by encouraging community engagement and spotlighting essential search trends that assist educators.

Interestingly, there has been a noticeable increase in searches for “AI for teachers,” reflecting educators’ embrace of new teaching methodologies.

There is also a growing interest in topics like “How to show support for teachers,” underscoring the community’s appreciation for their dedication.

Google provides funding and training in artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science to further empower educators.

Since 2023, the company has invested over $1.2 million in partnerships with institutions such as the University of Illinois’ Discovery Partners Institute, the University of Houston, CodeVA, and the Maryland Center for Computing Education.

This invaluable free training equips teachers with skills to leverage innovative tools like Gemini, formerly known as Bard, a generative AI chatbot that emerged in response to platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Moreover, Google is committed to giving back by allocating over $3 million in funding to assist teachers and schools affected by wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

This initiative includes a generous contribution from Google.org to the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, providing over 3,000 Chromebooks to support those in need. These efforts truly highlight the positive impact Google aims to create in the education sector.
