The SACNAS career convention is underway April 22-24. A resume/CV builder workshop followed the welcome ceremony. Attendees then dove into cohort sessions and wrapped up with partner engagement thanks to Bristol Myers Squibb, plus optional networking with speakers and peers.

According to the comments shared on social media, some attendees thought the Resume/CV building presentation was amazing.

The Result, Action, and Purpose statement to describe achievements was a key takeaway from the presentation, said one postdoctoral fellow at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

A postbaccalaureate at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) said they learned that industry is looking for a wide swathe of applicants.

Day 2 featured “A Day in the Life” informational interviews with professionals from NIH, Bristol Myers Squibb, Microsoft, and HP, as well as discovering what’s possible in STEM careers.

HACU recently bid farewell to its spring 2025 interns during a virtual ceremony on April 17, 2025.

This group of interns, consisting of undergraduate and graduate students, served in various federal agencies nationwide as part of the HACU National Internship Program. Andres Burgos, the HNIP and Strategic Initiatives Associate Director, welcomed the interns and congratulated them on completing their internships.

Former HNIP intern Julio Martinez, now an Internal Auditor for JPMorgan Chase, delivered a keynote address during the ceremony.

Additionally, Sherry Panzer received the HNIP Champion Award from host supervisors or agency partners who have demonstrated outstanding collaboration with HNIP and have received positive feedback from interns about their experiences.

Approximately 155 students participated in the 15-week internships as part of HACU’s National Internship Program.

HACU is now accepting applications for the 2025 fall internship session, which will occur from September 1 to December 12.
