The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced a webinar for its members on April 17, focusing on student engagement and success. Since its founding in 1986, HACU has expanded from 18 charter members in San Antonio, Texas, to over 500 member institutions.
Students attending HACU-member institutions still have time to apply for the Denny’s Hungry for Education Scholarships, which are available for undergraduate and graduate students. Five scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded, with a deadline of May 1, 2025.
Additionally, HACU has partnered with the United Health Foundation to offer 95 scholarships, each worth $5,000 and renewable annually for up to four years. The application deadline for these scholarships is May 31, 2025.
HACU is also collaborating with Café Bustelo to award twenty-five El Café del Futuro Scholarships, each valued at $5,000, to full-time undergraduate and graduate students of all four-year HACU-member institutions. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is June 30.
To be eligible for HACU scholarships, applicants must currently be enrolled at a HACU-member institution, have graduated from high school or earned a high school equivalency diploma in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or another location, have completed their first semester of college at a HACU-member institution, and plan to enroll at a HACU-member institution in the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Furthermore, HACU has announced the recipients of the Chispa Scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year. Five students from HACU-member institutions will each receive a $2,000 scholarship.
The recipients attend Montclair State University, Montgomery College, Northeastern Illinois University, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez.
The Chispa Scholarships are part of the HACU Scholarship Program for 2024-25, which offers various scholarships to assist students with tuition, fees, books, and other expenses.
New scholarships are added throughout the academic year, so check back regularly for updates.
