STEM City USA is a popular metaverse destination with music conducive to work and study, including Lo-fi Girl, which celebrated its 10th anniversary on March 28, 2025.
Since the launch of this innovative technology city, STEM City has undertaken various projects utilizing the metaverse.
In the Education Lobby, K -12 students are introduced to hundreds of careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). College students and professionals in STEM fields have participated in virtual career fairs and have even observed a NASA satellite orbiting Earth.
Various professional and veteran organizations have held meetings in specially designed environments, such as The Tribute Hall, where military history buffs can view historical exhibits and veterans can conduct operations on a national or global scale.
STEM City USA offers engagement through 2D augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) capabilities. Visitors can download Unity to explore The Tribute Hall in 3D.
They can transition from watching the Welcome Message in the community center to enjoying various STEM City newsroom programs, including a growing playlist called “Doing Small Business Like a Pro,” hosted by Small Business Pro University.
Participants can join discussions about Collin AI in the STEM City Town Hall, schedule events in the Resource Room, or apply to become a content provider and create their digital twin. To submit a request for a digital twin in the metaverse, applicants must provide at least 10 individuals who can verify their identity.
Additionally, visitors can explore other locations, such as STEM City Kansas City and STEM City Hawai’i/Pacific.
At the La Familia Health & Wellness Center, they can visit the Boston Scientific Auditorium or participate in cardio, strength training, and toning sessions in the Pop-Up Fitness Suite four mornings a week.
An online vision screening app is also available to check vision in the Eye Doctor’s office.
The STEM City USA Digital Library is an online repository for various educational resources. The library aims to promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning in the STEM community.
Experts in the STEM City USA metaverse have long emphasized the benefits of AI, Web3, and the metaverse, making these advanced technologies easily accessible.
