Recently, more than 200 union members and their families received a total of $200,000 in Union Plus Scholarships, with awards ranging from $500 to $4,000, according to the organization.
These scholarships are awarded annually to union members or their family members who wish to begin or continue their post-secondary education.
To be eligible, at least one year of continuous union membership must be held by the applicant, their spouse, or their parent (if the applicant is a dependent).
Applications must be complete and submitted by Friday, January 31, 2025.
The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund honors those who were lost or disabled on September 11, 2001.
This fund helps support students from these families and boasts a 76% education completion rate (graduation rate).
Alumni scholars are making significant contributions to their communities in various professions, including doctors, nurses, mental health counselors, teachers, lawyers, and first responders.
