Bianca Sias, featured on Hispanic Engineer magazine’s cover in the spring of 2021, caught the editors’ attention for her role as an enterprise transformation coach in the technology infrastructure department at JPMorgan Chase & Co, focusing on consumer and community banking.

In a recent newsletter, Maryland Senator Sarah Elfreth highlighted the significant historical presence of Hispanic and Latino communities in America. Hispanic Engineer magazine also recognizes and celebrates their remarkable contributions.

Imelda Terrazas-Salinas has been the lead test engineer at the Arc Jet Complex at Ames since 1995. She has achieved numerous accomplishments throughout her career and is known for her significant contributions to the field of thermophysics.

Andrea Chavez, who was honored at Bell for Women in Engineering Day 2024 and is now a cooperative university R&D manager, is also featured as one of the “Top Women in STEM” by Hispanic Engineer.

Andrea, a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, aeronautical, and astronautical engineering, is inspiring a new generation of women in engineering in her role at Bell.

Gabriela Munguia embarked on her career as a weight and balance engineer at Bell Helicopter 19 years ago. As a business analyst, she prepared for a 3D experience upgrade project to ensure the most efficient processes with the updated systems are defined.

Hilda Vargas currently serves as an associate principal for trust and safety at Google. Prior to this role, she was a data analyst at Xandr for over two years and worked as an analyst at Gain Theory, a global marketing effectiveness and foresight consultancy specializing in data, advanced analytics, and technology.

Hilda is a strong advocate for the Black Girls Code and is dedicated to making careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) more accessible to young Latinx students. She was highly respected as a role model for the Latinx community at Xandr, a division of AT&T.

Andrea A. Romeros developed a passion for airplanes while growing up in a small border town. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and interned in the airplane development core business operations of Boeing’s commercial airplanes unit in 2014.

Four years later, she was promoted to project manager for component repair capability development and supply chain integration.

She also obtained an M.B.A. from the Texas McCombs School of Business and was recognized as one of the top women in STEM by Hispanic Engineer magazine in 2021.

Alejandra Ortiz, a senior systems engineer at Raytheon since 2021, previously worked as an electrical engineer at Textron Systems, which is part of a company serving customers in aerospace and defense, fuel systems, and specialized vehicles.

Imelda Trevino-Ingman dedicated over 30 years of her career to General Motors, retiring as a manufacturing engineering group manager. She also served as a youth minister and was actively involved in supporting youth activities.

Diana Ortega, who recently retired as a quality systems implementation engineer from GM, reflected on her career as an engineer and expressed gratitude for the opportunities and accomplishments she gained throughout her journey.

At Booz Allen, Dianna Abreu supported the deployment of applications across the Veterans Health Administration, allowing veterans and their caregivers to meet with healthcare providers through any computer, tablet, or mobile device.
