The National Park Service has announced Latino Conservation Week’s celebration will seek to engage Latino communities (and everyone) in National Park Service recreational activities and stewardship that benefit their local communities and parks.
The Hispanic Access Foundation, which started Latino Conservation Week in 2014, has announced its 2024 grantees for Latino Conservation Week.
These include 28 organizations and community groups that are organizing events to support the goal of providing Latinos with outdoor recreation opportunities.
The Latino Conservation Week grants help build sustainable relationships and partnerships between community organizations, network members, and government agencies for continued engagement in conservation efforts.
They encourage more accessible participation and aim to strengthen the ties between community members and event participants.
Throughout Latino Conservation Week, community, non-profit, faith-based, and government organizations and agencies host events nationwide.
From hiking and camping to community roundtables and film screenings, these activities promote conservation efforts in their community and allow Latinos to show their support for permanently protecting our land, water, and air.
