The United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) has announced that Evelyn DeJesus, the executive vice president of the American Federation of Teachers, will be the featured speaker at its annual dinner.
The 2024 Annual Dinner will be held on August 15 in Chicago with the theme “Creating a Culture of Education.”
The USHLI hosts various events such as convenings of Hispanic-serving institutions, a Student Leadership Series, and Career & College Recruitment Fairs.
They have trained over a million present and future leaders, provided over $1.6 million in scholarships and internship support, organized 42 national conferences attended annually by over 5,000 leaders representing 40 states, and published over 425 reports on Latino demographics.
Recently, USHLI was named the National Hispanic Organization of the Year.
The organization promotes education and leadership development, empowering Latinos and other disenfranchised groups through civic engagement and research, as well as maximizing participation in the electoral process.
