The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Initiative recently announced plans to celebrate the graduation of the 2024 Congressional Internship Summer Intern class. Register here to attend.

CHCI leadership, alums, and special guests will honor the achievements of the interns.

The CHCI is a Hispanic nonprofit leadership development organization.

A report from the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative has revealed that the U.S. is home to over 62.5 million Latinos, making up 19% of the overall population and contributing significantly to the economy with a collective economic output of $2.8 trillion.

The report also highlighted that the approximately 5 million Latino-owned businesses generate over $800 billion in annual revenue, significantly impacting the U.S. economy.

Additionally, Excelencia in Education’s latest analysis provided a detailed profile of the challenges faced by Latino students and the institutions they attend.

The study emphasized clear opportunities for action, such as the fact that Latinos are more likely to be the first in their family to attend college, receive the federal Pell Grant, and are less likely to take out student loans to pay for college.

Notably, institutions serving Latinos are predominantly Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), educating 63% of all Latino students in the nation while representing 20% of all postsecondary institutions.

Moreover, Chispa, a dating app tailored for Latino singles, has partnered with “Sorry Papi” for a summer college tour spanning eight cities.

The tour aims to create an experience for Latino communities nationwide, featuring music, dancing, and opportunities for attendees to connect and celebrate Latino culture.

Participants can also enter to win a trip for two to either Puerto Rico or the Baja Beach stop with Sorry Papi through the Chispa app.
