The first ceremony during the Spring 2024 Commencement season honored Graduate Division students on May 10
It recognized 27 master’s candidates and 67 Ph.D. candidates.
The second ceremony for the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts took place on May 11, where 693 undergraduate students graduated.
The final ceremony on May 12, celebrated 520 undergraduate students from the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, with 253 students graduating from the School of Engineering and 267 from the School of Natural Sciences.
Professor Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, former director of the Department of Energy’s Office of Science, addressed the Graduate Division students, while community health leader Cástulo de la Rocha spoke at the ceremony for the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts.
Charles Nies, UC Merced’s vice chancellor for student affairs, addressed the students from the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
