Texas A&M International University recently held its Commencement Week. On May 6, students from the University College Multidisciplinary Studies (MDS) program were recognized for their achievements.

Students who completed their degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher were presented with a yellow cord, while all MDS students who successfully reached the graduation milestone were presented with a white stole.

Graduates of the University Honors & Undergraduate Research program were also recognized with an Honors Program medal.

The Spring 2024 Commencement took place on May 9, and it was the largest graduation ceremony in the university’s history, with over 950 candidates participating.

The commencement exercises for the College of Education, Nursing and Health Sciences, and A.R. Sanchez, Jr School of Business began at 11 a.m., while the College of Arts and Sciences and University College ceremony started at 4 p.m.

The keynote speaker for the event was William “Willie” Hornberger, a philanthropist and advocate for the underserved Latino population in North Texas.

Hornberger is also a founding sponsor of D CEO’s Energy Awards, which recognizes North Texas leaders in oil, natural gas, and renewable energy.

Throughout the day, student responses were provided by Daniella Hernández, representing the College of Education, and Daelyn Garza, representing University College.
