On May 10th, the University of Arizona conferred around 8,000 degrees including bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional degrees at the 160th Commencement.

The Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation with their parents, friends, and loved ones at Arizona Stadium.

Craig T. Nelson, an Emmy Award-winning actor and university alumnus, urged the graduates to share their experience, strength, and hope with others during the 160th Commencement.

This year, the tradition of cap decorating by graduates was also celebrated, where winning mortarboards were featured during the event in Arizona Stadium.

Ricardo Jasso, the founder of Amistades, Inc., a nonprofit that has provided mentorship for undergraduate interns training to be community activists and collaborated on various studies and initiatives, was among the Honorary degree and Alumni Achievement Award recipients.

Student award winners included Taylor Cavallaro, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in plant sciences.
