Learn about clean energy careers at the DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) every Thursday in September.
EERE offers internships and fellowships to support students from underrepresented communities interested in STEM careers. Apply by November 15 for the Graduate Education for Minority Students (GEM) Fellowship. The MEISPP offers paid summer internships to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students at accredited minority-serving institutions. Clean energy job creation and growth are crucial to building a reliable and resilient renewable energy system. Join us to start your clean energy career.
Are you interested in exploring clean energy careers? Join the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) every Thursday in September for “STEMtember Sessions: Careers in Clean Energy,” a webinar series and networking opportunity.
This series highlights various job roles across EERE and provides valuable information about clean energy careers.
EERE is ready to help students jump-start their careers as they return to school.
Internships, fellowships, and other opportunities to work with DOE and the 17 national laboratories prepare students who want to help build America’s clean energy future.
APPLY BY NOVEMBER 15 for the Graduate Education for Minority Students (GEM) Fellowship. The GEM Fellowship program is open to students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in applied science and engineering.
The program provides qualified students access to a network of leading corporations, national labs, and top universities and research institutions. The fellowship includes summer work experience and a financial package.
EERE’s technology offices hosted 11 GEM fellows—3 masters-level and 8 Ph.D.-level—virtually and in person at DOE headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The Minority Educational Institution Student Partnership Program (MEISPP) offers high school, undergraduate, and graduate students at accredited minority-serving institutions paid summer internship positions with DOE and the national labs.
Students receive a 10-week scientific research, policy, business, or government relations assignment. The program will accept applications this fall.
While these programs are designed to include and increase the number of students from underrepresented communities in STEM and clean energy careers, students can apply to numerous other DOE and EERE internships, fellowships, and graduate and postdoctoral opportunities.
To transition to a clean energy economy, American innovation is crucial. This calls for expertise in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). To get the most creative, promising, new ideas for clean energy and energy-efficient technologies, diversity of thought is essential.
This means that perspectives from various backgrounds and experiences can open doors to effective climate solutions.
To build a more inclusive clean energy workforce, EERE offers internships and fellowships that support students from underrepresented communities looking to change the world with a STEM career.
Clean energy job creation and growth are essential to building our clean energy future. Inclusivity is crucial in the race to create a more reliable, resilient, and secure 100% renewable energy system.
So, if you’re interested in starting your clean energy career, now is the time to join.
Are you ready to be a part of the clean energy workforce? STEM education is the key to unlocking a world of opportunities.
