This week, the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) organized its first Celebration of Research and Innovation at College Park Center. The event, sponsored by Toyota, was similar to a college science fair.
It showcased some of the top scientists and inventors at UTA, along with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and commercialization experts. Moreover, they recognized over 30 UTA members who recently earned patents.
The Celebration of Research and Innovation allowed attendees to meet students, faculty, and alums who have founded their businesses based on the innovations developed at UTA.
They also listened to interdisciplinary research projects by teams of faculty. In addition, they learned about the resources and expertise within the Office of the Vice President of Research and Innovation, which supports research and collaborates with industries.
As per a recent study, UTA and its 250,000 alumni create an annual economic impact of $28 Billion.
