Just over a year ago, AT&T was named a 5G Technical Innovation Collaborator for GeForce NOW Cloud Gaming. As part of the collaboration with NVIDIA, AT&T said it was exploring new ways to deliver performance that will revolutionize gaming.

Thanks to NVIDIA RTX technology and artificial intelligence (AI) features that immerse users into virtual worlds, gamers were able to see state-of-the-art graphics. New and existing AT&T 5G customers with a 5G plan could play games on PC game stores like Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, and Origin.

“NVIDIA is the latest leader that has tapped AT&T 5G to turn cloud gaming up a notch,” said David Christopher, executive vice president of partnerships and 5G ecosystem development at AT&T, last year. “These collaborations give us the insight and expertise to deliver gaming at its best as we optimize our network. Cloud gaming is just the beginning of the gaming evolution and our network will be ready for the changes that are on the horizon.”

This year, AT&T announced that as part of the 5G Technical Innovation Collaborator for GeForce NOW program, they are giving gamers six months of its recently unveiled Ultimate membership. According to the telecom company, the extension with NVIDIA lets gamers upgrade their experience, taking cloud gaming up to 240 frames per second.

Starting Jan. 19, both wireless and internet customers can qualify. New or existing AT&T 5G customers with an eligible 5G device and unlimited 5G rate plan can apply, as well as new AT&T Fiber customers. And as added value, the new deal comes with GeForce NOW’s newest, highest-performance membership, streaming 4K up to 120 FPS and ultrawide monitors.

With GeForce NOW Ultimate, gamers can pick up on mobile from where they left off on a PC. They can jump right into 1,500 titles on the devices they already own. In addition to the freedom to play anywhere at up to 120 FPS on mobile, the offer also upgrades a gamer’s experience to play on the best NVIDIA RTX cloud graphics, with the fastest access to servers, longer session times, better resolution, and higher frame rates.

“The new GeForce NOW Ultimate membership is taking cloud gaming to new heights,” said Phil Eisler, vice president of GeForce NOW at NVIDIA. “Adding Fiber customers to a fantastic offer means even more gamers, on more devices, will get to experience the best in cloud gaming.”

Last year Esler said that NVIDIA was thrilled to work with AT&T to optimize cloud gaming over 5G and to deliver an exclusive deal that brings high-performance cloud gaming to iPhone and Android users.

“Significantly more gamers (58%) now play via mobile device – which may or may not depend on a broadband connection – versus a PC (39%) or console (42%),” said Roger Entner, founder and principal analyst of Recon Analytics.5 “As the carriers fully roll out 5G, I’d expect to see more gamers favor mobile, with a focus on fast-paced games that require increased reliability and low latencies.”
