According to Javier Castano, a large audience gathered to encourage folkloric groups from different Latin American nations and Spain.
“The directors of the parade – led by its president, Agustín Nantes, and its coordinator, Edgardo Alonso – were in attendance, as was Consul General of Spain in New York Rafael Conde, among other dignitaries and personalities. Assemblyman Félix Ortiz served as grand marshal. Consul General of Colombia in New York María Isabel Rueda danced as her country’s representatives marched up Fifth Avenue. As always, the Bolivian delegation stood out for its colorful outfits and the large groups it brings to these types of events.”
